Suprised at the Big Fella!

Mark 11:12-14 (King James Version)

12. And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

13. And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Class quote from the film 'Zeitgeist: Moving Forward'

I came to understand that the only way to win was to make a total commitment to acquisition. I came to understand that money and possesions, that's the way that you keep score.

Now it all goes back in the box. All those houses and hotels, all the railroads and utility-companies, all that property and all that wonderful money, now it all goes back in the box. None of it was really yours. You got all heated up about it for a while but it was here a long time before you sat down at the board and it will be here after your gone. Players come, players go. Houses and cars, titles and clothes, even your body, cause the fact is, everything you clutch and consume and hoard, it all goes back in the box and i'm gonna lose it all.

You have to ask yourself, when you finally get the ultimate promotion, when you've made the ultimate purchase. when you buy the ultimate home, when you have stored up financial security and climbed the ladder of success to the highest rund you can possibly climb it and the thrill wears off and it WILL wear off, then what??

How far do you have to walk down that road before you see where it leads? Surely you understand it'll never be enough? So you have to ask yourself the question 'What matters?'

My Latest Poem

'Lent'

A tempting to walk a mile in your shoes,
in less than twelve steps,
'Fast' as I can
away from the heights of ignorance,
only to be 'with'.

Serj Tankian's new poetry book 'Glaring Through Obilvion' purchased. This is my favourite poem from it.

'SOON'

When is soon?
Is soon after noon
when the Sun pours itself on to all, in confidence?

Is soon after the Moon has fallen from the sky like a tragedy marked by magic?

Is it tomorrow, next week, or next month?

Was soon in the past?
Was your past soon gone?

This feeling of the elastic soon washing over me like a monsoon to the tune of absolute ruin, but wait!
The inverse of soon is noose.
Thereby, we are hung in time, by time awaiting soon before noon,
after June, barely making it over the grainy, trapped sand dune,
flowing always downward.

Who will turn it all over so that it may start again?
Can soon come again?
Was it ever really here?
